About the Club
The mission of the Toledo Young Republican Club is to provide leadership within our state, county, city and communities while enhancing fellowship between our members and creating working relationships with those in public policy making positions, in order to infuse conservative and Republican ideals into the framework of our local governments.
The Young Republicans (YRs) are the oldest political youth organization in the United States. The first organized effort of the YRs began in New York City in 1859 and a year later the YRs helped to elect Abraham Lincoln, the first Republican President of the United States.
The Toledo Young Republican Club follows in the same tradition of leadership. The future of our community rests in the hands of Toledoʼs future leaders - The Toledo YRs strive to be the grassroots organization behind Republican Party candidates and we are committed to helping them get elected to higher office.
The Club does everything from phone banks, literature drops, political rallies, debates, volunteer work, and fundraising. Even if you have no political experience, we will train you how to become an active participant in local politics.
The Club is a group of leaders that fight for change in a community riddled with a stagnant status quo. This change can not happen without your help.
The Toledo YRs have won national awards for its philanthropic activities to raise money and awareness for the Northwest Ohio Alzheimerʼs Association.
To date, the club has raised over $10,000 for those effected by Alzheimerʼs in the Toledo community.
Contact a member of the Clubʼs executive and find out how you can become a member of one of Toledoʼs most dynamic groups for young adults and future leaders.
Our meetings are generally the 3rd Thursday of every month and we meet at Wesley's Bar and Grill, 1201 Adams St, Toledo at 6:30 p.m.
